Summary
We are looking for a dynamic and results-oriented Retail Operations Manager to oversee a team of 100+ hourly merchandising associates across 200+ retail locations. The right candidate will thrive on travel to various retail stores, engage with team members and store personnel, and ensure the successful execution of key merchandising projects such as category resets, new item implementations, product stocking, audits, and data/photo collection. This role will focus on recruiting and training team members, meeting client expectations, and delivering timely project execution and financial results.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Train, coach, manage, and mentor hourly employees within the assigned market area
Achieve a 95%+ on-time execution rate for all projects
Build strong relationships with retailers and client personnel
Maintain regular communication with assigned employees
Provide timely feedback and actionable follow-ups to company team members
Organize staffing according to client project needs
Manage costs related to drivetime, mileage, and overtime
Control merchandising expenses including overtime, drivetime, mileage, and travel costs
Develop a flexible labor pool to address business fluctuations
Collaborate with the Regional team to contribute to overall success
Regularly visit job sites to engage with clients and employees, aiming for execution excellence
Address employee relations matters professionally, partnering with Human Resources and Leave Departments
Assist neighboring districts with staffing and project execution as needed
Requirements:
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Exceptional organizational abilities for managing multiple tasks and projects
High attention to detail with timely follow-up
Intermediate proficiency with web-based reporting and Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
Ability to stand and move for up to eight consecutive hours
Regularly lift up to 25 pounds
Valid driver's license required
Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in marketing, management, or a related field preferred, or equivalent supervisory/management experience
1 - 2 years of retail or field operations experience
Strong understanding of retail and/or merchandising practices
Travel Requirements:
Approximately 65% travel required: Daily and weekly travel to stores and employee interactions across the district
Overnight stays may be necessary based on business objectives and district boundaries
