GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPE The Retail Merchandise Supervisor (RMS) plays a key role in upholding Ulta Beauty's mission, vision, and values while leading a high-performing team to deliver robust sales growth. Reporting to the Operations Manager (OM), the RMS oversees a team of Task Associates and is instrumental in managing the retail store’s operations. This includes shipment processes, replenishment, omni-channel initiatives, pricing changes, and markdowns. The RMS drives store performance by focusing on sales growth, inventory management, and operational compliance, all while fostering a culture of accountability and excellence. PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (*Essential Job Functions) The RMS champions Ulta Beauty's mission and operates with the following duties and responsibilities: Foster an accountable culture that consistently meets or exceeds sales and operational goals, including guest loyalty, payroll management, and retail shrink. Enhance company profitability by ensuring operational excellence and driving top-line sales growth. Utilize store forecasts and payroll budgets to optimize scheduling, enhance productivity, and achieve sales and payroll objectives. Analyze financial and operational reporting to identify opportunities and enhance store performance. Conduct product demonstrations and engage with guests effectively to enhance the sales experience. Stay informed about industry trends and educate guests about relevant products and services. Ensure adherence to attendance policies and maintain regular attendance. PEOPLE Attract and retain a diverse team of talented associates. Foster a highly engaged and collaborative team environment in line with the Ulta Beauty brand. Lead the Guest Engagement Leader program effectively to enhance guest experiences and drive business results. PROCESS Ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty’s policies, procedures, and standards. Oversee and enforce the dress code policies. Utilize scheduling and task management tools to ensure work is prioritized and executed efficiently. Execute all operational processes effectively, particularly around inventory, shipment, replenishment, pricing changes, and markdowns. Safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with safety and inventory control practices. Manage daily inventory control processes and address reported thefts or damages as needed. Support continuous improvement by embracing company initiatives and technology. Communicate business trends and operational challenges with leadership regularly. JOB QUALIFICATIONS Education High school diploma is preferred. Experience 1-2+ years in fast-paced retail management or similar roles. Financial management: Demonstrated success in driving sales and managing budgets. Retail management: Proven expertise in monitoring inventory and executing merchandising strategies. Leadership: Experience in recruiting, developing, and motivating teams. Skills Proficiency with basic technology (e.g., Point of Sale systems, Microsoft Office). Excellent written and verbal communication. Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills. Outstanding organizational skills to multitask effectively. Able to remain calm and use good judgment under pressure. SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS Must have a flexible full-time schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Ability to work shifts starting as early as 5:00 a.m. Availability to work Sundays and Mondays is essential. WORKING CONDITIONS Regular movement throughout the store is required during shifts. Frequent bending, pulling, pushing, and reaching are necessary. Lifting and moving up to 40 lbs. may be required. Regularly use computers and telephonic devices during shifts.
