Retail Loss Prevention & Safety Associate Location: Hicksville, NY (as listed) – This role is a sensitive position. The successful candidate will be required to complete and pass background check and a drug test as a condition of employment.
What you’ll need to have
2-3 years of relevant work experience in safety, security, compliance, loss prevention, and/or asset protection in a retail environment.
Strong safety and audit background/writing skills.
Strong de-escalation capabilities and ability to identify suspicious behavior.
Strong leadership and values aligned with IKEA values.
Critical thinker, team player who can collaborate or work independently.
Punctual and responsible.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Note: Candidates in New York, Oregon and St. Louis, MO must be eligible to obtain a security guard license as required by local law. Obtaining the security guard license is a required condition of employment for this role.
What you’ll be doing day to day
Ensure the safety and security of people and property per local regulations.
Complete safety, security, and compliance audits and trainings.
Maintain critical safety equipment such as alarms, radios, and security systems.
Report and follow up on incidents.
Respond to and coordinate emergency situations in work areas (e.g., burglar alarms, fire alarms, active shooter and other emergencies).

Job type and hours Job type: Permanent, Full-Time
Hours: 34-40 hours per week. Open availability required from Monday to Sunday between 7:00 AM and 11:00 PM, with occasional overnight shifts.
Compensation Hourly pay range: $21.06 – $30.09
