This paid, onsite internship is posted for the Summer of 2026, estimated start date would be on or shortly after May 1, 2026.
Principal Duties and Accountabilities: (100%)
Accurately receives and processes customer transactions including checks, cash, loan payments, foreign currency, official bank checks and wire transfer orders verifying amounts and endorsements. Cashes checks and disburses funds upon verification of signatures and account balances. Orders and manages daily cash supply; counts and verifies incoming cash. Ensures accuracy through dual control. Balances cash drawer at the end of each shift, reconciling currency, coin, and checks with system totals. Promotes Ixonia Bank products and services by actively listening and asking effective questions to identify customer needs and recommend appropriate solutions. Provides empathetic guidance and practical assistance to customers impacted by fraud. Coordinates with the Fraud Response Team and ensures timely follow-up. Educates customers on fraud prevention strategies and maintains up-to-date knowledge of Ixonia Bank's fraud prevention resources. Executes necessary account maintenance to securely deactivate lost or stolen debit cards and initiate the issuance of a replacement card. Provides support to customers experiencing Online Banking issues. Opens and closes personal banking accounts, including checking, savings, certificates of deposit, and safe deposit boxes. Performs additional responsibilities as needed, including: Completes Online check and foreign currency ordering, stop payments and wire transfer forms Opening and closing duties, arming and unarming of building Other miscellaneous duties as assigned
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: (Competencies) Regulatory Compliance : Demonstrates understanding of and adherence to applicable federal and state banking laws and regulations, or possesses the ability to acquire such knowledge as a prerequisite for the CSR position. Product Knowledge : Maintains a strong working knowledge of Ixonia Bank's products and services, with proven experience in opening and closing a variety of deposit accounts including checking, savings, certificates of deposit, and safe deposit boxes. Mathematical Skills : Proficient in basic arithmetic operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Able to compute rates, ratios, and percentages. Reasoning Ability : Applies common sense understanding to carry out detailed but straightforward written or verbal instructions. Capable of resolving problems involving a limited number of variables in standardized situations. Computer Skills : Demonstrates basic proficiency in computer operations and banking systems. Customer Service : Responds promptly to customer needs and manages difficult or emotional situations with professionalism and empathy. Interpersonal Skills : Maintains confidentiality and fosters positive working relationships. Assists the retail team with administrative tasks, follow-ups, and special projects or events as needed. Communication Skills : Communicates clearly and persuasively in both positive and challenging situations. Able to read and comprehend simple instructions and short correspondence. Capable of writing clear and concise communications and presenting information effectively in one-on-one and small group settings. Attendance and Dependability : Consistently reports to work on time and maintains reliable attendance. Follows instructions accurately and responds positively to management direction.
