GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPE The Retail General Manager (GM) plays a vital role in leading our store’s team through Ulta Beauty's dynamic mission, vision, and values. As a GM, you'll be accountable for driving sales growth while fostering a high-performing team environment. You will manage all aspects of store operations, including salon services. PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (*Essential Job Functions) The GM champions Ulta Beauty's mission, vision, and values through the following responsibilities: Promote accountability to meet or exceed sales, service, and guest loyalty goals. Drive profitability through operational excellence, effective sales strategies, and prudent expense management. Utilize store forecasts and payroll budgets to optimize scheduling, productivity, and workload completion. Address financial and operational reporting issues promptly to enhance store profitability. Engage with guests through makeup applications, skincare analysis, and product demonstrations to elevate the shopping experience. Stay informed on industry trends and products to better assist customers. Maintain regular attendance and hold all associates accountable for the company attendance policy. People Attract, hire, and retain a talented and diverse team to meet staffing needs efficiently. In partnership with management, address policy violations tactfully and in line with company procedures. Foster a highly engaged team culture through open communication and collaboration. Create a supportive, inclusive environment that encourages team growth and engagement. Oversee the development of team members through training, feedback, and performance reviews. Engage in ongoing training for personal and team development in brand knowledge. Encourage open communication about strategies and align team goals with store objectives. Promote teamwork by working closely with management and establishing priorities together. Implement the Guest Engagement Leader program to enhance guest experiences and drive performance metrics. Process Ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, and standards. Adhere to and enforce dress codes and appearance standards. Use scheduling tools to assign the right associates, ensuring optimal guest experiences. Utilize task management tools to prioritize store workload effectively. Safeguard store assets through adherence to safety and inventory control measures. Implement inventory control processes and handle theft reporting diligently. Drive continuous improvement by promoting company initiatives and expectations. Share insights with leadership on trends, challenges, and needs within the store. JOB QUALIFICATION Education: Bachelor's degree preferred. Experience: 3-5+ years of retail management or equivalent experience. Financial management: Proven success in driving sales and managing budgets. Retail management: Experience in achieving operational excellence and executing merchandising strategies. Leadership management: Skills in attracting and developing talent while fostering teamwork. Skills: Proficient in basic technology, including POS systems and Microsoft Office. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills. Organizational skills to balance multiple tasks efficiently. Adaptable under pressure with sound judgment. SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Willingness to close the store at least once a week. Travel for corporate meetings and events may be required. Maintain valid identification for travel purposes. WORKING CONDITIONS Frequent use of computer and office supplies. Mobility throughout the store during shifts. Regular bending, pushing, and reaching activities. Lifting and moving up to 25 lbs periodically. Continuous walking and coordination tasks required.
