Morrison Healthcare is seeking a Retail Food Service Manager to lead the cafeteria and retail operations at a 300-bed acute care facility in New York, NY. This role is part of the Mount Sinai Health System and is ideal for a motivated professional with a strong background in retail food service, sales, marketing, and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage daily operations of the cafeteria/retail food services under the direction of the Director of Dining Services
Plan and supervise special functions and promotions to increase customer engagement and sales
Maintain cash controls, payroll records, and team scheduling
Hire, train, and supervise hourly team members
Ensure exceptional customer service and compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards
Direct staff in accordance with company policies and food presentation standards
Train employees in portion control, cashiering, safety, and guest interaction
Generate and submit timely reports (daily, weekly, monthly) as required by corporate policy
Implement and uphold cash handling procedures and theft prevention measures
Foster positive communication with patients, staff, and all stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
B.S. in Food Service Technology/Management or related field; or A.A. with 3+ years of related experience
1–3 years of foodservice management experience, ideally in retail or healthcare
Strong knowledge of food trends, sanitation, food cost control, and marketing
Experience with P&L accountability and contract foodservice operations
Strong background in retail operations and marketing strategies
Effective leadership, coaching, and team management abilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and related computer programs
