ROLE OVERVIEW: As a Retail Events Planning Lead, you will be at the forefront of creating memorable experiences for our athletes through events that foster community spirit and engagement. Below are the key responsibilities and qualifications: Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with the Community Leadership team to plan and execute all DICK'S Sporting Goods-led events, including budget management and compliance with event regulations. Become an expert on event space capabilities to recommend optimal setups for various events. Work with the Community & Events Manager to stay within budget, identifying opportunities for cost efficiencies. Create essential event documentation, including Run of Show and Emergency Information cards. Ensure a fun and safe event experience for athletes, overseeing all aspects from setup to teardown. Manage event scheduling and logistics, including hiring referees and maintaining equipment. Coordinate entertainment aspects of events, such as music and guest speakers. Maintain the cleanliness and safety of event spaces and equipment. Community & Customer Engagement: Build partnerships with local schools, organizations, and sports leagues for effective event collaboration. Work with the Community Team to bring engaging programs like clinics and camps to the store. Gather feedback during and after events to enhance future athlete experiences. Innovate programming to deliver high-quality seasonal events. Operational Excellence: Maintain all event equipment to ensure a safe and clean environment. Support store management in sales and operational tasks as needed. Adapt to changing priorities and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment. Follow all safety protocols and guidelines as mandated by external regulations. Talent Development: Ensure effective staffing for events and communicate clear expectations to team members. Assist in training new teammates and sharing best practices. Provide ongoing coaching and mentorship to help teammates succeed and fulfill our vision. Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent. 1-3 years of relevant experience, with a preference for prior customer service and event planning background.
