About the Role
The Retail Engineer supports the Property Operations Team by performing all aspects of building maintenance to include projects, work orders, PM’s and emergency repairs. They will also assist in the preparation of annual budgets for operating and capital expenditures.
What You Will Do
Building Maintenance & Safety Oversight
Responsible for monitoring and maintaining the overall condition of the complex, ensuring a safe and functional environment. This includes performing routine maintenance on heating, lighting, utilities, signage, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems. Regular inspections, emergency response, and adherence to fire and life safety standards are key aspects of this role.
Operational Coordination & Tenant Support
Works closely with the Property Manager to maintain an inviting and efficient workspace for tenants and guests. This involves managing tenant work orders, conducting inspections, and providing expert guidance on maintenance projects within budget constraints. Additionally, oversees contractor proposals and external inspections for specialized repairs and improvements.
Administrative & Inventory Management
Maintains accurate records of maintenance activities, work orders, and preventive maintenance schedules using the MRI/Angus Work Order system. Responsible for estimating costs, procuring materials, and ensuring compliance with safety documentation, including MSDS manuals. Also tracks major equipment repairs, utility cut-offs, and inventory to support seamless building operations.

About You
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
1-3 years experience in a commercial office environment or related industry
HVAC EPA certification preferred
Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical and HVAC
Basic knowledge of hand tools and understanding of safety
Maintenance Electrician License preferred.
SMA-SMT Certification/Training a plus
Familiarity with, and eagerness to explore and integrate, emerging technologies (e.g. AI and blockchain etc.) to drive innovation and continuous learning.
