The Opportunity

The ADC is a position that is responsible for the first interactions with donations and the handling of merchandise. When taking on this role, Goodwill’s mission is directly impacted by your role to uphold respect and generosity with each donor, customer, coworker, and materials being donated.


  • Implement G.R.A.T.I.S into your work environment:
  1. Greet: Within 10 seconds of any interaction, welcome the donor.
  2. Receipt: Give donor coupon for their donation(s)
  3. Assist: Help the donor unload materials donated and place them into blue bins.
  4. Thank: Give gratitude to donor for the donation.
  5. Invite back: Let the donor know they are welcome back for further donation.
  6. Sort: Once the donation is collected, you must sort the product
  • Sort donations and handle materials:
  1. Separate donations by soft lines (clothing material and soft materials), and hard lines (textiles and hard materials).
  2. Help drivers with loading donations and handling such in a safe and efficient way.
  3. Keep work area organized and return carts and baskets where they belong.
  4. Prepare any donated furniture for sales floor.
  • Keep work environment clean & safe:
  1. Utilizing safety measures when using blue bins.
  2. Knowing the information within the Consumer Product Safety Commission recalls, the Safety Data Sheets, and complying with all health regulations.
  3. Sanitizing and labeling materials
  4. Reporting any potential unsafe working conditions or violations detected in the workplace.

What We’re Looking For
  • 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience (retail preferred)
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings and weekends
  • Reliable transportation and commitment to a drug-free workplace
  • Comfortable standing, bending, and lifting up to 40 lbs. regularly
