Who We Need:
Kane Realty is seeking a detail-oriented, highly motivated, and organized individual to join our team as a Retail Construction Project Coordinator. This position will support the Senior Retail Project Manager in overseeing the construction and tenant upfit of retail spaces within our mixed-use developments. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the seamless execution of retail construction projects by managing documentation, schedules, construction logistics, and communication across internal and external teams.
How This Role Creates Value:
- Coordinate, track, and execute a wide range of tasks related to tenant buildouts and landlord-scope retail construction to help ensure timely and successful store openings.
- Provide pre-construction support by assisting with contractor site walks, preconstruction meetings, and tracking receipt of required pre-construction documentation.
- Manage day-to-day coordination of construction logistics with retail tenant contractors and facilitate necessary approvals with on-site management and public safety teams.
- Track retail construction files such as pay applications, invoices, payment status, and proactively report discrepancies to the Senior Project Manager.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date project files, including lease exhibits, contracts, construction drawings, contractor forms, closeout documents, and project trackers.
- Assist in the collection and coordination of project closeout materials such as as-built drawings, lien waivers, and certificates of occupancy or completion.
Who You Are:
- Ability to manage multiple projects at once in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills with a sense of urgency.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to communicate effectively with contractors, vendors, and internal teams.
- Assertive and confident in directing contractors to comply with project guidelines, retail construction protocols, and property-specific rules & regulations.
- Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Comfortable following retail construction-related financial procedures, including
tenant improvement reimbursement documentation. - Self-motivated and resourceful; able to work independently while also collaborating
within a team. - Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; working knowledge of Adobe, Bluebeam, Yardi or similar software is preferred.
What You Offer:
- BA/BS degree with 2–4 years of experience in a construction, development, or project-based environment.
- Experience in commercial retail tenant upfits is strongly preferred.
- Prior experience in commercial construction or project management support is a plus.
