Position Summary:
Under general direction from the Retail Supervisor, ensures the efficient operation of the casino gift shop by greeting customers, responding to questions, totaling accurate bill, and accepting correct payment in a professional, courteous manner.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Greets guests in a prompt, professional and courteous manner offering assistance with merchandise as requested.
Displays merchandise in a tasteful manner, suggests selections to meet customer's needs, and emphasizes selling points of article; demonstrates use of merchandise, if applicable.
Prepares sales slip and receives payment for merchandise purchased.
Reconciles and balances cash drawer at end of shift.
Helps remove tags or labels from purchased merchandise if requested by customer.
Places new merchandise on display; ensures all displays are well stocked and prices are marked as required.
Requisitions merchandise from stockroom.
Prepares forms for employee consignments. Sells and records any consignment sale.
Maintains cleanliness and order in gift shop by cleaning shelves, counters, and tables.
Exchanges merchandise for customers and accept returns according to established policies and procedures.
Keeps track of merchandise issued to authorized personnel or promotional activities.
Observes behavior of customers entering gift shop; reports suspicious behavior to supervisor or security.
Attends and participates in regularly scheduled staff meetings.
Contributes to a team effort and accomplishes related results as required.
Assists in researching new items to compliment the gift shop and guests.
Assist in working with artists for setting up consignment agreements.
Assists with inventory during the first of each month.
• Follows applicable TMCR company policies and procedures including Hotel Operations policies and procedures. Performs other duties as required.
Direct Reports: None.
Access to Sensitive Areas: Hotel Gift Shop storage areas, email access and all sensitive areas when accompanied with authorization.
Signatory Authority: All related retail/gift shop forms and related forms with the authorization of Hotel Management.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent required, unless waived by Human Resources Management. Six (6) months of cash-handling experience required. Previous hospitality (casino, hotel, retail or guest services experience) preferred. Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen, background investigation, obtain and maintain gaming license.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of retail operations.
Knowledge of basic math and arithmetic.
Knowledge of cash handling.
Knowledge of casino operations.
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Ability to interact and maintain good working relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds.
Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with co-workers at all levels.
Ability to work independently and meet strict time lines.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written and oral form.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hand to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently lifts and/or moves up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this position, the work environment is noisy and employee will work indoors and occasionally outdoors (exposed to weather conditions). Additionally, the employee will be exposed to cigarette smoke.
