Position Summary

Under supervision of the Merchandise Manager, the Retail Associate will maintain the retail operation of Blumenthal Arts boutiques. The Retail Associate will create a delightful shopping experience, restock product displays, and maintain accurate inventory counts.

This is a part-time, seasonal position that is tied to the operation of specific event offerings that may include nights, weekends, and holiday seasons. Weekly hours will range from 0 to 29 hours per week. Retail Associates may work at several venues during one shift.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Ensure all areas are “show ready” throughout the day
• Open and close boutique
• Perform all POS duties including ringing up merchandise, taking payments, and offering receipt
• Greet and assist customers with a friendly and positive attitude
• Provide product information and answer questions to ensure a pleasant shopping experience
• Actively engage with customers to understand their needs, recommend products, and close sales
• Maintain a positive and professional attitude on the sales floor 
• Ensure all merchandise and displays are labeled and priced correctly 
• Daily upkeep and maintenance of the store’s space and fixtures
• Advise Merchandise Manager on low stocked merchandise, slow moving merchandise and all other customer needs and concerns 
• Communicate and deliver daily sales reports to store team and Merchandise Manager 
• Ensure company losses are at a minimum in terms of loss prevention 
• Process freight / merchandise in a timely and efficient manner 
• Completes incident / accident report when needed
• Assists with lost and found
• Additional duties, as assigned

Education and Experience

• Requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent supplemented by one year of customer service experience, or a combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Requires evening and weekend work as a part of the regular work schedule.
• Requires ability to reliably travel between venues in Uptown Charlotte.
• Previous retail experience preferred.
