Welcome to St. Pete Athletic

We’re not just launching a club—we’re building a community, a standard, and a vibe. Think urban country club. St. Pete Athletic is where sport, hospitality, and social energy collide. With 14 pickleball courts, 2 padel courts, dedicated table tennis spaces, a full-service restaurant and bar, and amenities ranging from coworking to wellness to a garden oasis—it’s a place to play, connect, and belong.

But our real secret? Hospitality. The kind you feel, not just see. We believe in creating moments that surprise and delight. And we’re looking for Retail Associates who live and breathe that philosophy.

The Opportunity

As a Retail Associate, you’ll be a key ambassador of the club experience—delivering elevated hospitality within the pro shop and across all guest touchpoints. With deep product knowledge, a refined sense of style, and an anticipatory approach to service, you’ll curate personalized shopping experiences, maximize sales opportunities, and uphold our brand’s luxury standards.

This is a role for someone who thrives on blending hospitality with sales—seamlessly transitioning between service areas, collaborating with cross-department teams, and ensuring every interaction reflects our commitment to excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Luxury Guest Engagement

  • Welcome members and guests warmly, using their names when known, and offer tailored assistance.
  • Curate personalized product recommendations based on guest preferences, activity needs, and style.
  • Act as a brand ambassador by sharing club offerings, upcoming events, and membership benefits with confidence.
  • Resolve guest concerns with empathy and urgency, escalating when necessary to preserve loyalty.

Retail Presentation & Product Knowledge

  • Maintain visual merchandising standards by steaming, folding, tagging, and arranging displays to brand guidelines.
  • Demonstrate expert knowledge of apparel, racquets, accessories, and wellness items.
  • Support monthly inventory counts, receive shipments, and ensure all items are correctly tagged and displayed.
  • Monitor inventory levels, identify bestsellers, and communicate reorder needs and guest requests to leadership.
  • Follow loss prevention protocols and remain aware of guest activity to deter theft or discrepancies.

Sales Performance & Promotion

  • Meet or exceed sales, average transaction value, and upsell targets.
  • Actively cross-promote retail products during club events, courtside service, and other guest interactions.
  • Track and report guest feedback, sales trends, and top-performing SKUs to inform buying and merchandising strategies.

Operational Excellence

  • Process transactions with precision, ensuring accurate handling of cash, credit, and electronic payments.
  • Respond to and fulfill online orders in Square promptly.
  • Perform opening, mid-shift, and closing duties, including restocking and cleanliness checks.
  • Maintain cleanliness and readiness of the retail space and adjoining areas.

Collaboration & Training

  • Communicate clearly and courteously with team members across departments to ensure seamless service.
  • Use Square and Podplay systems to personalize service and streamline operations.
  • Support and mentor new team members to uphold brand standards and operational consistency.
  • Attend pre-shift briefings to review VIP guests, events, and product highlights.

Standards & Safety

  • Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
  • Follow emergency response protocols, assisting with guest evacuation or safety measures when necessary.
  • Complete all required training modules within the designated period.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, lift and carry up to 30 lbs, and work indoors and outdoors in varying conditions.

Who You Are
  • You thrive in luxury hospitality or retail environments.
  • You’re polished, approachable, and style-savvy.
  • You’re detail-oriented and proactive in anticipating needs.
  • You love helping people find products that enhance their lifestyle.
  • You’re a collaborative teammate who values excellence and connection.

Our Promise to You

At St. Pete Athletic, we want this to be one of the best jobs you’ve ever had. That means:

  • A supportive team culture built on kindness, excellence, and joy.
  • Opportunities to learn across multiple areas of hospitality.
  • The chance to be part of a community that values connection as much as service.

Compensation & Benefits
  • $20/hour.
  • Opportunity to enroll in company health insurance plans.
  • Flexible scheduling (part-time or full-time).
  • Opportunities for advancement in an opening club.
  • Employee discount for club membership (includes F&B and retail preferred pricing).
