The Retail Assistant Store Manager will be a Key Carrier and considered a leader on duty. The essential functions of this position may require you to consent to periodic comprehensive background checks conducted by a third-party./ph3Primary Responsibilities/h3pSales and Service Excellence:/pulliPartner with the management team to drive memorable customer experiences and client satisfaction./liliEnsure the execution of Office Depot selling techniques and sales training across the store./liliFoster a sales-focused environment through assisting with the training and development of associates./liliAct as a role model for delivering exceptional customer service and product expertise./li/ulpOperational Efficiency:/pulliProcess merchandise accurately and efficiently, adhering to established procedures, deadlines, and visual merchandising standards./liliIdentify areas for process improvement and implement plans to reduce waste and inefficiencies./liliAssist the General Manager in providing guidance and effective coaching to associates for improved performance./liliContribute to increasing sales and profitability through conversion, Average Order Value (AOV), and customer satisfaction improvement initiatives./li/ulpLeadership and Team Development:/pulliProvide guidance, direction, and ongoing training to store associates, including Print Services associates./liliFacilitate training sessions on the business model and the holistic service offering for clients/customers./liliObserve, coach, and provide feedback to enhance associate proficiency and build a culture of trust and brand loyalty./liliRegularly exercises independent judgment when providing input to the General Manager on assessing store associates performance, certification(s), and competencies./li/ulh3External Key Carrier Responsibilities/h3pMaintain the safety and security of the building and associates during the absence of other managers. Perform opening and closing responsibilities, including activation and deactivation of the stores alarm system, cash handling, and daily store balancing. As a leader in the store, ensure regular loss prevention compliance. Fulfill responsibilities associated with External Key Carrier designation./ph3Education and Experience/h3pHigh School diploma or equivalent, Bachelors preferred. Business, Marketing, Retail, or related fields. Minimum 1-3 years of experience in related field. Retail, sales, customer facing, and/or supervisory experience preferred. Basic computer skills and the ability to use computers and technology for information, and to access information necessary to complete the job. Experience with Logistics and Freight. Advanced selling skills. Must be able to effectively lead and coach others in a professional environment.
