Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of Retail, the Retail Assistant will further the mission of Ben's Bells by supporting retail operations as needed during the holiday season. This flex-time temporary position will most often be responsible for retail sales at our holiday store at La Encantada shopping center. This position will begin mid-November and will conclude in January 2025.
Responsibilities
Customer Service
Act as a first point-of-contact and representative of Ben's Bells Proactively respond to customer service issues and escalate as needed Drive sales through engagement of customers, suggestive selling, and sharing product knowledge Respond to merchandise inquiries via email and phone Facilitate in-store events and activations Sales & Reporting Process merchandise transactions including cash, check, and credit card payments Run daily reports Balance cash register at the conclusion of each shift Assist with inventory tagging and management Fulfillment Manage and fulfill online and wholesale orders - process, pack, label, and ship Maintain store inventory, cleanliness, and visual integrity, including merchandise displays Transport product between locations, eligible for mileage reimbursement Provide support for additional shop locations Coordinate tasks for merchandise-specific volunteers and interns Essential Skills and Abilities Excellent people skills Personal qualities of kindness, integrity, credibility, and commitment to the mission of Ben's Bells Flexible schedule, including weekend availability Ability to lift items up to 50 pounds Bilingual skills are helpful but not required Requirements Customer service experience, preferably in a retail environment Proficiency in web applications Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications Prior money-handling experience Experience with POS/Inventory Management systems (LightSpeed POS preferred but not required) Ability to effectively communicate in person, in writing, and on the phone Excellent organizational skills Reliable transportation and a clean driver's license record, in-town travel required
Timeline Position will remain open until filled. Please note this is a temporary seasonal position that will terminate in January 2025.
This position is flex-time, meaning shifts are scheduled on an as-needed basis and will require weekends and evenings. There is no guaranteed minimum number of hours, but hours will vary between 15-25 hours per week. If you are enthusiastic about the mission of Ben's Bells, apply today!
