At AdventHealth Shawnee Mission, formerly Shawnee Mission Medical Center, you're more than just a number on a chart. Find whole-person care, dedicated teams and staff, and a wide variety of medical services, all at our hospital in Shawnee Mission, Kansas.

The Respiratory Therapist provides direct respiratory care to patients in all areas of the hospital as outlined in Pulmonary Services procedure manual. Is knowledgeable in providing and evaluating the routine as well as critical care modes of respiratory care. Provides recommendations and/or changes to care based on patients current status.

Respond to emergency situations immediately, perform appropriate patient assessment and intervention and replace emergency supplies in a timely manner,

Perform respiratory care procedures according to physician orders, department policy/procedure, and patient care plan

EzPAP, Flutter Valve, PEP, Theravest/Smart Vest, Acapella and Incentive Spirometry

Demonstrate proficiency in the set-up and operation of the iVent

Demonstrate ability to identify appropriate, initiate and document in hospital IPOCS

Associate's Degree or Graduate of a Technical School

· Bachelor's Degree

· American Association of Respiratory Care Certified Pulmonary Function Tech or Registered Pulmonary Function Tech

· 2 years clinical experience for new grads acceptable in lieu of 1 year of work experience

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:

· Kansas Respiratory Therapist License

· NRP if working in the NICU
