Overview: GovCIO is actively seeking skilled Database Administrators to join our team, providing essential support to our customer, USPS' Network and Compute Technology (NCT) group. The NCT is diligently focused on enhancing network segmentation, mitigating cybersecurity risks, and improving performance within a vast postal network powering over 32,000 USPS facilities. Key Responsibilities: As a Database Administrator, you will: Perform complex activities supporting Oracle RDBMS products, including installation, upgrades, and maintenance in diverse environments. Diagnose and resolve intricate issues within Oracle RDBMS and other database technologies like Postgres, NoSQL, SQL, and Cassandra DB. Provide daily incident support and manage multiple database technologies including Oracle and SQL Server. Lead incident responses, maintenance, and technical documentation within a large, distributed database environment. Create and execute growth plans ensuring robust support for application environments. Develop proactive procedures for problem detection and implement backup/disaster recovery plans. Create project plans in line with USPS standards, providing regular status updates to management. Collaborate with various teams, including Program and Project Managers, to drive projects effectively. Utilize monitoring and management tools to ensure security, performance, and compliance. Contribute to operational improvement processes and maintain up-to-date documentation. Interact with all USPS functional groups to accomplish objectives and foster information sharing among team members. Qualifications: Candidates must possess: A Bachelor's degree with 15+ years of relevant experience or commensurate expertise. Expert knowledge in Oracle RDBMS environments. Strong familiarity with UNIX and Microsoft Windows operating systems and various database technologies. The ability to obtain and maintain a US Postal Service Public Trust clearance. Preferred Skills: Experience with middle tier technologies and cloud services will enhance your application.
