Job Summary and Qualifications The Patient Safety& Risk Management Coordinator serves as an advocate for patients and/or family members with complaints/ grievance concerns regarding medical care and/or service s provided. The Patient Safety& Risk Management Coordinator documents concerns ,tracks/trends and investigates all aspects of patient encounters including but  not limited to medical care in order to facilitate the resolution of concerns to maximize patient and family satisfaction. The Patient Safety& Risk Management Coordinator is primarily responsible for reviewing, routing, and escalating VigiLanz incident reports to the appropriate facility stakeholders. The Patient Safety & Risk Management Coordinator also performs a variety of other functions as directed and delegated by the Director of Patient Safety & Risk Management.
What qualifications you will need:
REQUIRED LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS
Registered nurse(RN), State of Texas.
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in healthcare related field preferred (Nursing, Social Services, Case Management, Counseling, Health Administration, Patient Advocacy, or related field).
PREFERRED EDUCATION, LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS,KNOWLEDGEAND ABILITIES
Experience in healthcare setting preferred.
3-yearswork experience within a hospital/healthcare organization or customer service related field.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES
Ability to make decisions in accordance with established policy, exercise interpretative judgment. Extensive exposure to highly confidential issues. Frequent phone and face-to-face contact with patients/families. Professional telephone etiquette, guest relations, and ability to deal calmly with physician and patient/family complaints/grievances. This position has the following minimal requirements:
Knowledge of complaint and grievance resolution process
Knowledge of general management principles
Knowledge of organizational policies, procedures, and systems
Ability to work in a fast paced, high stress environment
Ability to work as a team member
Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
High level of proficiency with MS Office products including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
