Program Manager

The Program Manager will oversee all Laboratory testing at all Urgent Care/Employer Health/Quick Care Centers, including physician offices. Ensures that employee orientation and competency records are maintained as required by the regulatory agency. Ensures that acceptable proficiency testing performance is maintained with required corrective action as required by the regulatory agency. Implements new procedures and reviews/revises the procedure manuals annually. Maintains instrument logbooks for preventative maintenance; records include corrective action when problems occur. Maintain proficiency on all procedures and instruments related to the technical specialty. Responsible for resolving technical problems and ensuring that remedial actions are taken whenever test systems deviate from the laboratory's established performance characteristics. Provides leadership for all staff. Plans test menus, organizes testing schedules, oversees all quality aspects, and developmental activities of the technical departments in collaboration with the Associate Medical Director and VHS Director.

Education Registered Medical Technologist or equivalent with a bachelor's degree in chemistry, physical biological science or Medical Laboratory Technician and two (2) year's laboratory training or experience required

Experience 10 years Healthcare/Medical - Laboratory/Hematology/Chemistry/Microbiology required 5 years General - Supervision - Regional/Multi-Practices Required

Qualifications Effective interpersonal communication skills, team building/facilitation skills, presentation skills, and problem solving skills Ability to manage change Effective organizational, analytical and project management skills Knowledgeable of laboratory section and its operation, including current accreditation standards and regulations required Competent in Microsoft Office components Familiar with laboratory information systems from the user perspective In depth knowledge of the science/technology of the assigned disciplines Familiar with quality management and improvement principles In depth knowledge of COLA and CLIA regulations and the measures necessary to be in compliance Ability to travel required
