Reporting to the Project Management, Manager, the Production Engineer is responsible for ensuring efficient manufacturing processes, product quality, and continuous improvement within a production environment. They collaborate with cross-functional teams, analyze data, and drive root cause analysis to address issues related to production quality, efficiency, and handoffs. Additionally, they support Supplier Quality initiatives in collaboration with Procurement.

The Production Engineer is responsible for applying engineering solutions to solve complex problems and to continuously improve key metrics including safety, productivity and cost.

The Production Engineer provides direct and continuous support to manufacturing operations and serves as the main point of contact to manufacturing operations personnel. This position also serves as a liaison between operations and the engineering department.

Work with cross functional teams to implement new products, incremental, derivative and cost reduction projects as well as working with cross functional teams to solve product and field issues.

Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions:

• Root Cause Analysis and Process Improvement:

  • Investigate and identify root causes of Out of Box (OOB) and Production Quality issues.

  • Collaborate with production teams to address process inefficiencies and optimize production workflows.

  • Implement corrective and preventive actions to enhance product quality and reduce defects.

  • Monitor key process metrics (e.g., cycle time, productivity, downtime) to ensure processes are in control.

• Handoffs and Collaboration:

  • Facilitate smooth handoffs between production, Sustaining Engineering, and R&D Engineering.

  • Coordinate communication and information flow to ensure seamless transitions during product development and production phases.

• Supplier Quality Support:

  • Collaborate with Procurement to assess supplier quality and performance.

  • Participate in supplier audits, risk assessments, and deviation processes.

  • Work closely with suppliers to address quality issues and improve processes.

• Technology Deployment and Automation:

  • Evaluate new technologies and proof-of-concept testing for production suitability.

  • Identify gaps and risks in existing processes and recommend improvements.

  • Contribute to the selection and implementation of production infrastructure.

Education and Experience:

• Education: Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Engineering (e.g., Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial).

• Experience: 1-year Hands-on experience in production engineering, process troubleshooting, and equipment maintenance.

• Section IX training or experience in WPS/PQR creation

The compensation range for this role is $75,000 - $80,000 USD per year.
