As a Product Manager I at Verisk, you are responsible for leading an empowered product team to deliver meaningful outcomes-not just features. You will work closely with your tech lead and product designer as a trio to deeply understand user needs, uncover opportunities, and co-create valuable solutions for the property insurance industry. Your focus is on problem ownership, not feature requests, as you develop strong product intuition and take accountability for solving customer and business problems in scalable, sustainable ways.
About the Day to Day Responsibilities of the Role
Discovery & Problem Framing
Lead discovery efforts with the trio to deeply understand the problem space
Validate product ideas with real users through interviews, shadowing, and testing
Prioritize opportunities based on desirability (customer), viability (business), feasibility (engineering), and usability (design)
Delivery & Outcome Focus Translate validated opportunities into clear user stories, requirements, and success criteria
Manage a transparent backlog that reflects current priorities and expected outcomes
Ensure continuous delivery of valuable iterations that can be measured and learned from
Partner with engineering and QA to deliver high-quality, usable, and performant solutions
Establish, communicate, and manage the release cadence of the product
Metrics & Learning Define and track success metrics for the features and problems your team owns
Use analytics tools, support tickets, and qualitative feedback to drive product decisions
Validate impact using data and adjust direction as needed
Conduct research using industry trends, market data, and customer feedback to inform product improvements
Track and report product progress, including the success or failure of each initiative
Stakeholder Communication & Alignment Make product decisions within established frameworks and under the guidance of senior product leaders
Keep stakeholders informed and engaged without compromising team autonomy
Collaborate cross-functionally with claims operations, marketing, sales, and customer success teams
Contribute to quarterly planning by connecting team-level initiatives to company OKRs
Represent the product during customer calls, internal and external meetings, and other key events
Support product leadership in developing, communicating, and executing the strategy for property estimating solutions

About You and How You Can Excel in this Role
Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, design, insurance, or a related field, or equivalent work-related experience and training
1-3 years of experience in product management, business analysis, UX, or technical roles
Demonstrated ability to define problems, understand users, and deliver working software
Solid grasp of agile and dual-track discovery principles
Excellent communication skills for storytelling, alignment, and documentation
A growth mindset with high curiosity and humility
Intermediate understanding of property claims, restoration, and contracting industries preferred
Understanding of Xactware's core products and insurance estimating concepts preferred
Experience with product analytics tools such as Mixpanel, Amplitude, SQL, or Power BI
Ability to work on multiple projects in various stages simultaneously
Strong time and priority management skills
Experience with Agile work management and issue tracking tools such as JIRA
Willingness to travel occasionally for customer research or industry events
