As a vital member of the Produce team, you'll be responsible for receiving and preparing products, maintaining appealing displays, and providing exceptional service in line with Whole Foods Market standards. The role involves handling deliveries and stocking shelves to ensure our customers always find fresh, high-quality produce. All Whole Foods Market team members are committed to delivering courteous and efficient service to fellow team members and customers alike. Maintain freshness and visual appeal by keeping produce displays clean, well-stocked, and organized. Collaborate with the Team Leader to showcase seasonal and high-volume items effectively. Monitor product spoilage and communicate any concerns to buyers, Team Leaders, or the shift supervisor. Complete necessary worksheets related to spoilage, sampling, temperatures, and cleaning. Assist with periodic inventory checks as required. Arrive on time to work, dressed appropriately and prepared for your shift; attend all necessary training sessions and meetings. Provide outstanding customer service by addressing customer needs promptly and effectively while promoting suggestive selling techniques. Maximize sales opportunities through proper preparation, storage, rotation, stocking, and merchandising practices. Adhere to established procedures for health and sanitation, as well as safety practices. Ensure a clean shopping environment, maintaining equipment according to cleanliness and safety standards. Perform opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned, ensuring accuracy of signage and pricing. Report any safety hazards or violations immediately. Complete additional tasks as directed by store, regional, or national leadership. Required Skills: Proactive sales abilities. Willingness to learn about all products available in the department. Understanding of organic vs. conventional growing processes. Strong attention to detail and communication skills. Ability to meet customer service standards in all interactions. Experience: No prior retail experience required. Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: Lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to stand or walk 6-8 hours during an 8-hour workday. Engage in bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching movements. Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals and varying temperatures. Willingness to work in both wet and dry conditions. Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. Capable of using tools and equipment, including knives and electric pallet jacks. The wage range for this position is $17.00-$25.40 hourly, based on experience. New entry-level team members who complete their first 90 days may be eligible for a base rate increase after their 90-day anniversary.
