As a prep cook at The Horton Grand Hotel, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our kitchen runs smoothly. You will be responsible for preparing ingredients and dishes in accordance with our recipes and standards, maintaining a clean and organized environment and supporting the kitchen staff in various tasks. This part-time position requires a commitment to excellence, attention to detail and a passion for cooking. We're looking for a PREP cook to join our amazing team! This is a PM, part-time shift. Responsibilities: Prepare ingredients for cooking including washing, peeling, cutting and measuring. Read thoroughly and follow recipes accurately to prepare menu items. Ensure all food items are properly stored, labeled and FIFO is properly used in accordance. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen including workstations, equipment and storage areas. Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines. Assist in inventory management and notify the Chef of any shortages or quality issues. Perform other duties as assigned by the Chef or General Manager. Requirements: Previous experience as a prep cook or line cook is preferred. Excellent understanding of food preparation and cooking techniques. Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately. Ability to work efficiently and independently without supervision. Strong organizational and multitasking skills. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards.
