Job Summary: Join our team as a Retail Security Officer where you will provide essential security services while building strong relationships with customers, local law enforcement, and fire departments. As a valued member of our security team, you will maintain a vigilant presence and demonstrate exceptional customer service at all times. Basic Functions: Control access points and manage pedestrian and vehicle traffic. Conduct regular patrols of buildings and surrounding areas. Provide escort services for materials and personnel as needed. Inspect security measures and identify fire hazards. Handle special assignments as directed. Responsibilities: Your role may vary based on department needs and post assignments. We ensure reasonable accommodations for candidates with specific needs. The primary responsibilities include: Report to your post on time and in full uniform. Maintain a professional appearance and greet customers and colleagues courteously. Stay updated on any changes to post orders and essential information from the management. Monitor the premises by patrolling or remaining stationary, being alert to any suspicious activities and responding to incidents or accidents. Continuously monitor surveillance cameras as per post orders. Have a thorough understanding of emergency procedures to effectively respond to alarms and incidents. Complete Daily Activity Reports, Log Book entries, Incident Reports, and other documentation related to your responsibilities. Propose practical improvements for safety and loss prevention based on your observations. Familiarize yourself with all life safety systems and security equipment to ensure their proper operation. Ensure compliance with training and guidelines established by management and relevant regulatory agencies. Maintain open communication with your Security Supervisor regarding new security concerns or necessary changes.
