Position Overview: We are seeking a versatile and compassionate Physician Assistant (PA) to join our growing Urgent Care team, with a focus on both general urgent care and psychiatric urgent care services. This is a unique opportunity for a PA who is passionate about providing integrated, whole-person care in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.
Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive medical and psychiatric evaluations. Diagnose and treat acute medical conditions (e.g., infections, minor injuries). Assess and manage patients experiencing acute mental health issues or psychiatric emergencies. Develop and implement integrated treatment plans (medical + psychiatric), including medication management. Order, interpret, and follow up on labs, imaging, and diagnostic tests. Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medication adherence, and preventive health strategies. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including physicians, psychiatrists, RNs, and behavioral health specialists. Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
Requirements: Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies (or equivalent). Current state licensure as a Physician Assistant and certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). BLS or ACLS certified Previous experience in urgent care, emergency medicine, or psychiatric care preferred. Strong clinical skills and ability to manage acute medical and psychiatric conditions in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) and familiarity with psychiatric assessment tools and protocols. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and patient-centered approach to care. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in patient care settings.
