Responsibilities
Perform sterile compounding duties, including the preparation of chemotherapy and other hazardous drugs, under the supervision of the Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, or Pharmacy Technician Supervisor.
Operate and maintain the sterile compounding environment in compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
Prepare and package medications and supplies for patient deliveries.
Participate in Quality Control (QC) and Quality Improvement (QI) activities to support safety, compliance, and performance goals.
Spend the majority of the shift engaged in sterile compounding, chemotherapy compounding, or supporting/cleaning tasks related to the sterile environment.
Utilize electronic health record (EHR)-supported barcode validation and image verification systems (e.g., Dispense Prep/Check, DoseEdge) according to system protocols.
Consistently perform and document assigned environmental monitoring and cleaning tasks for the shift.
Qualifications Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
IV admixture experience stronly preferred.
Two years pharmacy tech experience required.
Sterile Compounding experience preferred.
Keyboard skills and ability to navigate electronic systems applicable to job functions.
Licensure
Current applicable state Pharmacy Technician Licensure required prior to date of hire and maintained thereafter.
