Central Fill Pharmacy Technician

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Central Fill Pharmacy Technician to join our high-volume automated pharmacy refill center in West Sacramento. This role is essential in ensuring the accurate preparation, packaging, and distribution of medications in a fast-paced production environment.

Schedule Options

• Full-Time: Monday through Friday, 1:30 PM 10:00 PM
• Part-Time: Flexible shifts up to 24 hours per week, within the same time window

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately fill prescription vials with tablets and capsules, verifying medication size and strength
• Replenish automated dispensing cells using handheld scanners, ensuring proper lot and expiration tracking
• Conduct weekly cycle counts, audit inventory, and assist in resolving discrepancies
• Prepare cold chain and specialty prescriptions with strict adherence to handling protocols
• Pack and ship prescriptions in compliance with HIPAA regulations and pharmacy standards
• Troubleshoot and escalate operational issues to management as needed
• Perform cleaning and maintenance of automated dispensing equipment, including calibration and part replacement

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a pharmacy retail or customer service setting
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Active California Pharmacy Technician License
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations
• PTCB National Certification preferred

Work Environment

• Onsite role in a large-scale pharmacy/warehouse production facility
• Occasional exposure to refrigerated environments and hazardous medications
• Physical requirements include:
• Standing/walking for up to 8 hours
• Lifting/carrying up to 10 lbs
• Climbing step ladders, stooping, kneeling, crouching
• Continuous use of computer and visual acuity for detailed tasks

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $26.00/hr.
