Northeast Philadelphia pediatric dental office looking for Dental Hygienist to join our wonderful team. 5-day work week totaling approximately 23 - 32 hours, with one evening and no weekends.
We are a privately owned solo doctor practice with tight knit team that has been serving the community for over 35 years. We are seeking a hardworking and dedicated dental hygienist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be committed to providing high quality patient care and maintaining a strong work ethic. You will not be alone in your role our supportive team, including experienced dental assistants and other auxiliary staff will work alongside you to ensure you have the help and resources needed to carry out your responsibilities efficiently and effectively. The Dental Hygienist is the chief preventive provider of the Practice. This team member motivates, educates, and provides excellent treatment. Under indirect supervision, the Dental Hygienist will remove hard and soft deposits from teeth and examine oral areas, head, and neck for signs of oral disease. He or she will educate patients on oral hygiene, provide preventative dental care, take X-rays, or apply fluoride or sealants. By discovering and documenting areas of failure, both periodontally and restoratively, he or she facilitates the dentists diagnosis and treatment recommendations. This role requires advanced manual dexterity, fine motor control, and the ability to communicate effectively with young patients and their parents in a calming, professional manner.
Responsibilities include:
Conduct oral health assessments and review patient history
Perform routine and deep dental cleanings, including:
- Supragingival and subgingival scaling
- Root planning
- Polishing and flossing
Take and process diagnostic digital X-rays
Apply fluoride and sealants
Educate children and caregivers on oral hygiene practices
Chart existing restorations, caries, and periodontal conditions
Sterilize instruments, maintain operatory cleanliness, and adhere to OSHA and HIPAA regulations
Monitor and report changes in patients' dental or medical condition to the dentist
Qualifications:
Associate's Degree from ADA accredited dental hygienist school
Current State Licensure
CPR Certification
