Summary To coordinate the services of the advanced imaging departments of MUSC Physicians by working with technologists, radiologists, referring doctors/clinics, front desk, and schedulers in the services of radiology.

Work Shift
• Responsible for assisting in daily operations of the advanced imaging department including looking ahead on imaging schedules for possible issues, taking phone calls for the department, and working with technologists and radiologists as needed on scheduling procedures and exams. • Responsible for uploading images to PACS for radiologist comparison and archiving. • Contact patients to remind them of their scheduled appointment and reschedule missed appointments. Work with patients who show up late on finding a solution to get them back on the schedule. • Provide the highest level of patient satisfaction by promptly and courteously responding to the needs and requests of patients, visitors, and the public; respond to questions with clear, accurate information about their radiology procedure and aftercare. • Works closely with Patient Access and Financial Counselor to ensure that insurance authorizations are completed. Clear exams off the advanced imaging schedule if authorizations are not obtained. • Assist with data entry of patient electronic medical records (EPIC). • Assist other areas with patients as needed. • Communicate any delays to the front desk and providers with same-day appointments. • Work with requesting providers to find the best solution for add-on patients. • Communicate any issues to the appropriate modality and/or Radiology Supervisor. • Performs any other support duties as needed by radiologists, technologists, and site management.
Additional
High school diploma or equivalent (GED), with 1 year of customer service experience. Ability to interpret and apply financial procedures and regulations preferred. Previous experience with hospital information systems or word processing preferred.
