Reporting to the Executive Pastry Chef, the pastry chef works with a team of 8 to create all of the delectable desserts and breads that we provide to our Members. Full-time position - AM and PM | Schedule typically Tuesday - Sunday with two days off per week | $17.00-$18.00 depending on experience |Excellent Benefits | Distinctive Employee AmenitiesDuties and ResponsibilitiesExecutes banquet events of up to 500 peoplePrepares all baked goods, pastries and other bakery items per productionOversees pastry cart and buffet dessert table set-up and presentationHelps maintain the cleanliness of bake shopSchedules production of baked goods to maintain an inventory of freshly baked goods at all timesPrepares and serves items in accordance with established recipe and presentation standardsSets up, maintains and breaks down work stationNotifies Executive Pastry Chef in advance of expected product shortagesRequisitions supplies as needed to prepare menu itemsEnsures that work area is safe and secureMaintains neat professional appearance and observes personal cleanliness rules at all timesAdheres to state and local health and safety regulationsMaintains the highest sanitary conditionsQualifications and Personal Characteristics3-5 years' experience in a from scratch production bakeryFluent English speakerAble to take direction well from supervisors. Responds well to suggestions from othersAble to focus on timing, organization and sanitationDetail-oriented - you understand that the little things countFollows established processesIs cool under pressureActs with the Members in mind.
