Description: The Part-Time Social Studies Teacher - Personal Finance is responsible for providing engaging and rigorous classroom instruction in Personal Finance. This position may also include teaching other social studies electives or related courses as assigned.
Job Summary: Provide instruction in Personal Finance and other assigned social studies courses, aligned to Minnesota Academic Standards and district curriculum. Make effective use of instructional resources and technology to enhance learning. Develop and implement innovative methods for delivering instruction that engage all learners. Support the Minnesota Graduation Standards; implement the goals and objectives of the District and the assigned school/program. Evaluate student performance using school- and district-approved systems; maintain accurate student records and reports. Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about student progress and participate in parent-teacher conferences. Maintain a positive and productive learning environment through effective classroom management and student engagement strategies. Participate in professional development required by the district and seek ongoing growth in social studies content and instructional best practices. Perform other related duties as assigned by administration. Qualifications: A valid Minnesota teaching license issued by the Minnesota Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board (PELSB) in Social Studies, Business Education, or with an Out-of-Field Permission (OFP) for Personal Finance. Knowledge of social studies content with emphasis on financial literacy, personal finance, and economic principles. Understanding of multicultural, gender-inclusive, and disability-fair curriculum practices. Proficiency with instructional technology and multimedia tools. Excellent classroom management skills with a focus on creating safe and supportive environments. Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, families, and staff from diverse backgrounds. Ability to plan and implement lessons that align with district and school goals. Ability to adapt instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners. Ability to assess and communicate student performance in ways that foster growth and achievement. Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of student information. Ability to evaluate student performance and to present evaluations in a manner that fosters higher student achievement.
Hours:
M-F regular school hours 8:00 - 4:00
Pay Range: $50,329.50-$74,272.50 for 1.0 FTE
