Job Title: Part Time Rehabilitation Attendant / Rehabilitation Therapy Aide Location: New York, NY Shift: 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM (Mondays & Fridays Only) Duration: 3+ months | Contract Role Pay Rate: $20/hour (W2)
Must Have Qualifications
Physical Therapy or Nursing Aide experience (CNA highly preferred)
Current CPR Certification (minimum 1 year validity)
Experience working with patients in a healthcare setting (rehabilitation setting preferred)
Job Summary The Rehabilitation Attendant / Therapy Aide supports Physical and Occupational Therapists by assisting with patient treatments, maintaining a clean and safe therapy environment, and performing clerical and logistical tasks to ensure smooth daily operations.
Responsibilities Patient Assistance & Care
Assist with portions of therapy treatments under the supervision of licensed therapists (e.g., bed mobility, activities of daily living, therapeutic exercises, ambulation).
Transport patients to and from therapy sessions.
Assist patients in transfers to/from wheelchairs and stretchers using proper body mechanics.
Equipment & Environment Maintenance
Routinely sanitize and clean therapy equipment; perform safety checks per department protocols.
Maintain linen supplies, retrieve and prepare equipment for therapy (walkers, canes, therabands, etc.).
Maintain equipment supply closets in an organized manner; track and report inventory weekly, monthly, and annually.
Clerical & Administrative Support
Maintain inventory of exercise and patient education materials.
Answer phone calls professionally, assist with photocopying, and handle basic clerical duties.
Record and reconcile daily statistics, and deliver reports to the appropriate department.
Team & Program Support
Assist with ordering supplies and occasional local purchasing.
Participate in program development, problem-solving, and special projects.
Attend and actively participate in unit and departmental training sessions; successfully complete unit-specific competency tests.
Skills & Competencies
Patient-centered care approach with a professional and empathetic demeanor.
Basic MS Office Suite skills.
Strong time management and organizational skills.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a healthcare team.
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
Valid CPR Certification (minimum 1 year validity required).
