Certified Pharmacy Technician - Float Location: 333 North Smith Ave, St Paul, MN 55102 Shift: Day/Evening (United States of America) Shift Length: 8 hour shift Hours Per Week: 40 Union Contract: Non-Union-NCT Weekend Rotation: Every 4th Job Summary: As a pharmacy technician, you ensure patient safety by accurately preparing and dispensing medications. Your efficiency in managing inventory and processing prescriptions allows pharmacists to focus on patient care. By providing excellent customer service and medication guidance, you enhance patient satisfaction and adherence to treatment plans. Key Position Details: 1.0 FTE (80 hours per 2-week pay period) 8-hour Day/Evening shifts Every 4th weekend rotation This position will float to multiple locations Job Description: The technician functions under the supervision of the pharmacist. Provides basic prescription filling, inventory management, customer service and basic compounding. May assists with other pharmacy projects and advanced dispensing. Provides backup for lead technicians and the pharmacy buyers. Principle Responsibilities: Prescription Filling Order entry into pharmacy management software Fulfilment of reviewed orders Final dispense according to disposition Reduces audit risk through proper checks including, but not limited to, DAW, days supply, NDC validation, dates of service, discrete directions and other standard practices Prepares oral extemporaneous products Performs bulk compounding

Customer Service Provides service to internal and external customers Greets patients, employees and staff in a timely and courteous manner Obtains needed information through direct patient contact to support prescription filling Advocates for patients by searching for manufacturer and foundation copay assistance

Technician will routinely complete the following responsibilities to manage and support drug distribution Inventory Management receipt and restock of wholesaler orders, transfer of medications to internal pharmacies Medication picking in support of prescription filling Troubleshoots malfunctioning equipment Restocks automated dispensing robots Assists with returns, waste, and reporting/resolution of discrepancies

Complete and document quality assurance activities Monitors expiration dating Performs cleaning Reports discrepancies or inaccuracies to pharmacist or supervisor

Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: Must be 18 years of age with education and/or experience needed to meet required functional competencies as listed on the job description Prior experience as a Pharmacy Technician or Prior healthcare experience Preferred Qualifications: High school diploma or GED Vocational or Technical Training from an American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) accredited pharmacy technician training program Licenses/Certifications: Registered Pharmacy Technician - MN Board of Pharmacy required upon hire Certified Pharmacy Technician - Pharmacy Technician Certification Board required (NHA or PTCB Pharmacy Technician Certification Board) Physical Demands: Light Work: Lifting weight up to 20 lbs. occasionally, up to 10 lbs. frequently Pay Range: $22.04 to $30.01 per hourThe pay described reflects the base hiring pay range.
