Duties and Responsibilities Assist the orthodontist during a variety of treatment procedures. Set up and sterilize instruments before procedures. Prepare materials for braces, molds, or impressions according to the orthodontist’s directions. Provide patients with instructions for oral care Take Records Perform lab tasks under the guidance of an orthodontist. Explain orthodontic procedures and treatments to patients to ensure understanding and ease patient concerns. Carry out infection control protocols, adhering to industry regulations and safety standards. Arrange and set appointments when needed. Requirements High school diploma or GED. Experience as a orthodontic assistant, at least 1 year preferred. Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods. Understanding of dental records and documentation requirements. Ability to use dental management software proficiently. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of managing stressful situations with calmness and courtesy.
