We are seeking a BAS Operations Manager to lead fulfillment operations, overseeing both standalone control projects and those integrated with equipment packages. This role provides strategic leadership to ensure project excellence, working closely with the management team to align department goals with customer needs. It is well-suited for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Supervision & Leadership
Manage and mentor supervisors involved in operational processes.
Perform supervisory duties in line with organizational policies and applicable laws.
Employee Management & Development
Interview, hire, onboard, and train new employees, including technicians and project managers.
Conduct annual performance appraisals, set goals, and provide ongoing coaching.
Develop and oversee training programs and peer reviews for continuous learning.
Address employee performance issues, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.
Identify opportunities for employee growth and business development.
Project Management & Execution
Plan, assign, and direct project teams to meet quality and timeline goals.
Coordinate pre-bid efforts with Sales and facilitate turnover meetings.
Collaborate with engineering to develop project documents (submittals, BOM, O&M manuals).
Support prefab operations, inventory management, scheduling, and execution.
Oversee monthly project billing and cost reviews.
Scheduling & Operations
Work with Project Managers to schedule technicians and ensure job readiness.
Integrate sales forecasting into operational planning.
Lead project management meetings to align cross-functional teams.
Conduct post-project reviews to improve processes and performance.
Ensure adherence to engineering, commissioning, and project management standards.
Maintain customer satisfaction by resolving concerns and corrective actions.
Partner with Sales to review contracts and estimates.
Conduct risk analysis and implement risk management strategies.
Required Skills & Abilities
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (including Teams).
Experience with Procore project management software and CAD tools.
Hands-on expertise in programming and commissioning BAS, particularly Alerton, Distech, and Tridium controls.
Strong problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills.
Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Construction Management preferred.
Equivalent industry experience (10+ years) may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Proven experience in budgeting, financial planning, and administration.
In-depth knowledge of HVAC, BAS operations, and turnkey projects.
