New Business Development Manager - Retail We're seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to spearhead our expansion into the retail channel. You'll be responsible for building relationships with independent retailers, franchise owners, and small business operators across diverse market segments. This is a field-based role for someone who thrives on face-to-face selling and building lasting partnerships with local business owners.

Key Responsibilities Identify, prospect, and close new accounts within assigned territory, focusing on independent retailers and franchise locations Develop and execute territory plans to achieve monthly/quarterly sales targets Build strong relationships with business owners and decision-makers through regular in-person visits Navigate the unique buying processes of small businesses, from single-owner operations to multi-unit franchisees Manage a pipeline of 150+ prospects while maintaining relationships with existing accounts Conduct product demonstrations and presentations tailored to each business's specific needs Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth onboarding and ongoing support for new accounts Maintain accurate records in CRM and provide regular territory insights to leadership What You Bring 5-10 years of B2B sales experience, specifically selling to small and medium-sized retail businesses Proven track record of success in field sales, with demonstrated ability to open 10+ new accounts per quarter Strong understanding of how small retailers and franchise owners make purchasing decisions Experience managing a geographic territory and optimizing travel routes for maximum efficiency Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with diverse business owners Self-motivated with the discipline to manage your schedule and work independently Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Proficiency with CRM systems and basic sales technology Preferred Experience in Any of These High-Volume Verticals: Quick Service Restaurants (QSR) and fast food franchises Convenience stores and gas stations Auto service centers and repair shops Independent pharmacies Pizza shops and local restaurants Fitness centers and gyms Pet stores and grooming services Hardware stores Cell phone repair/retail stores Dental and medical offices Car washes Print shops and shipping centers What We Offer Competitive base salary of $70,000-$90,000 based on experience Uncapped commission structure with realistic OTE of $120,000-$150,000 Car allowance or mileage reimbursement Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision Flexible work environment - you manage your own schedule Opportunity to build and own your territory with significant growth potential Regular sales training and professional development opportunities The Ideal Candidate You're someone who genuinely enjoys getting out from behind the desk and meeting business owners where they work.
