Job Overview

The Merchandise Assistant - Backstage provides administrative support to the buying team to drive sales, turn, and margin results. Performs other duties as assigned.

What You Will Do

  • Take full ownership of all data entry responsibilities related to purchase orders, style information, vendor communication and sales reporting.
  • Maintain awareness of the market through competitive shopping and develop knowledge and understanding of pricing and trends.
  • Take ownership of maintaining department records and develop a user-friendly filing system for all paper and electronic documents.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing communications.
  • Professionally answer, screen and direct incoming communications and emails.
  • Obtain samples delivered to the building and deliver them to internal destinations.
  • Assist with the development of trend boards to support the merchandising vision.
  • Monitor and resolve issues involving UPCs, orders, and shipments with MerchOps and the distribution center teams.
  • Develop self through ongoing professional development and training.
  • Provide general administrative support to the buying team.
  • Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Problem-Solving: Monitor and resolve issues involving UPCs, orders, and shipments with MIO and the distribution center teams.

Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in MS Office is required.

Who You Are

  • Candidates with a bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a related field are encouraged to apply. Buying office experience preferred.
  • Regularly required to sit, talk, hear; use hands/fingers to touch, handle, and feel. Occasionally required to move about the workplace and reach with hands and arms. Requires close vision.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs.
