Status: Fulltime

Shift Day/Hours: Mon - Wed 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Thu 8AM - 1PM, Fri 8AM - 1PM

Location: Tampa, FL

Weekend Work: Yes - 2nd Sat of the month 8AM - 1PM

On Call: No

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible to provide basic patient care assistance to the physicians
  • Greets patients and ensures efficient triaging
  • Records and documents vital signs, patient weight and basic medical history
  • Prepares patient for physician examination, assists physician or APRN with procedures
  • Provides instruction and basic education for various ancillary tests and procedures, performs EKG testing
  • Maintains general appearance, cleanliness and safety of all patient exam and waiting rooms
  • Ensures that all exam rooms and patient care areas are stocked
  • Assists with various front office functions such as filing organizing patient medical records, insurance verification and authorizations, answers phone, monitors and maintains inventory and equipment
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Required Medical Assistant certification thru AAMA (American Association of Medical Assistants)
  • Phlebotomy experience a must have
  • Required High School or Equivalent
  • Highly preferred 2 years Medical Assistant experience
  • Highly preferred bilingual Spanish and English
