Methods Machine Tools was established in 1958 with three employees and a handful of refurbished machines. Material Hander

We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Material Handler to support the efficient distribution of materials to internal locations and ongoing production jobs. This role requires a high-energy individual with a positive attitude who is committed to improving existing processes and enhancing efficiency. The Material Handler will work closely with the Production and Shipping & Receiving teams to develop and execute plans for effective material distribution.


Duties/Responsibilities:

· Material Handling and Distribution:

  • Distribute received materials to designated internal locations and production jobs.
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and tracking of materials.
  • Coordinate with team members to prioritize material distribution based on production schedules.

· Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities to streamline material handling processes.
  • Implement improvements to increase efficiency and meet key performance indicators.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop innovative solutions for material flow challenges.

· Coordination and Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the Shipping & Receiving and Production teams to plan daily material distribution.
  • Maintain open communication to ensure materials are delivered promptly and accurately.
  • Provide feedback on material shortages, delays, or other issues impacting operations.

· Inventory and Documentation:

  • Assist in inventory management and tracking of materials to prevent shortages or excesses.
  • Ensure proper documentation of material movement and maintain accurate records.
  • Conduct routine audits of material handling processes.

· Safety and Compliance:

  • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines while handling materials.
  • Operate material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace to support safety and efficiency.

Required Skill/Abilities:


· Strong organizational and time management skills.

· Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members.

· Capability to lift and move materials (may require handling heavy loads).

· Proficiency in using material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) and basic computer skills.


Minimum Education and Experience:


· Education: High school diploma or equivalent (GED).


· Experience:

Previous experience in material handling, warehouse, or inventory management is preferred.

  • Familiarity with shipping, receiving, or production operations is a plus.

· Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.

· May require extended periods of standing, walking, or lifting.
