Description
This position performs preventive maintenance activities and repairs of Heartland machinery in our remote plants. This individual will assist in equipment installations and other plant projects within the plant to support the business metrics. This position will be trained in print press operation and act as a backup operator in the plant, supporting production goals by covering call-ins, vacations, and other customer needs.
Requirements
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Maintenance: Determine machine and equipment preventative maintenance schedules based on industry standards or OEM recommendations, planning both time and parts needed to minimize the impact on production. Record and maintain records on machine maintenance activities using Fiix. Collaborate with outside contractors or Little Chute maintenance resources on plant maintenance activities where additional support/assistance is required. Inventory and requisition machine parts, materials, and other supplies to maximize machine uptime in the plant. Perform machine troubleshooting activities, using information from personal observations, machine error codes, operator feedback, or testing devices. Study blueprints or manufacturers' manuals and schematics to determine correct installation and operation of machinery. Other duties, as assigned. Production: Examine job orders to determine details such as quantities to be printed, production times, stock specifications, and anilox BCM. Monitor feeding, printing, and racking processes of presses to maintain specified operating levels and to detect malfunctions, making production adjustments to ensure safety, quality, and service objectives of the business. Select and install printing plates, rollers, feed guides, gauges, screens, stencils, dies, and cylinders according to specifications using hand tools. Ensure press work area remains within 5s standards. Troubleshoot and solve problems as they arise on the machine you are operating. SKILLS & ABILITIES
Required Education High School Diploma or GED Preferred Education Associate's degree in maintenance/industrial maintenance Other relevant education or experience as determined by management. Required Experience Five (5) years industrial maintenance experience (mechanical and electrical) Ability to troubleshoot using machine schematics Basic knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, or hydraulic circuits. Computer Skills Must be proficient in the use of a PC and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word). Certifications & Licenses None Required. Other Requirements Knowledge of LEAN and/or Six Sigma processes.
