Maintenance Technician II (1st Shift)
The Maintenance Technician II (1st Shift) is primarily responsible for conducting regular inspections, cleanings, lubricating, and adjusting of machinery and equipment to ensure they are in optimal working condition for the production and packaging of dental consumables.
This position will be based in our Pomona, CA location in the near future, and will work from our Orange, CA location in the interim.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Under minimal supervision, conducts regular inspections, cleanings, lubricating, and adjusting of machinery and equipment to ensure they are in optimal working condition for the production and packaging of dental consumables.
- Adheres to planned maintenance schedules to ensure timely servicing of machinery and equipment, reducing the risk of unexpected downtime.
- Programs and modifies programmable controllers.
- Troubleshoots and diagnoses majority of machinery and equipment and determines the root cause of malfunction or breakdown.
- Performs moderate to complex repairs of machinery and equipment including replacements, or adjustments on faulty components, parts, or systems to restore functionality and prevent further damage.
- Obtains quotes for equipment & services and ensures compliance with regulatory.
- Monitors inventory levels of spare parts, tools, and equipment necessary for maintenance activities, ensuring availability when needed. Submits requisitions in the business system when needed.
- Reads, comprehends, and complies with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Collaborates with Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) to ensure compliance with safety regulations and policies within assigned and outsourced work.
- Adheres to all company policies and procedures including safety and quality.
- Participates in continuous improvement activities through the Envista Business System (EBS) including Kaizens, 5S events, Standard Work workshops, Kanban, and Kamishibai.
- Travels up to 5% utilizing company vehicles to pick up parts.

Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience required OR
- Technical Certification or higher education in a relevant field plus 1 year of relevant work experience.
Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrated aptitude in complex mechanical, electrical, and instrumental skills.
- Proficiency in operating advanced hand tools, machinery, and testing equipment.
- Familiar with reading and modifying Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
- Proficient in performing math calculations including measurement adjustments.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and schematic drawings.
- Ability to learn business systems.
- Experience in managing Preventative Maintenance (PM) records via ERP systems and extracting reports to identify trends.
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to read and interpret written instructions in English.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Target Market Salary Range: $35.00 - $38.80 per hour
