Key Responsibilities: Cover designated dates with guaranteed 8-hour shifts daily, with overtime applied after 9 hours. Manage both clinic and call coverage, including weekday day shifts (8:30 am – 5:00 pm), on-call responsibilities during the day (billed at standard hourly rate), and night on-call (5:00 pm – 8:30 am subsequent day) billed at night call rate. Provide 24-hour weekend call coverage. Handle complex spine cases with a focus on patient safety and quality care. Ensure adherence to all procedural and safety standards, including fluoroscopy certification. Required Skills: Active California medical license and DEA registration. Board Certification in Neurosurgery; recent graduates considered if truly Board Eligible within 3-5 years. Fluoroscopy certification (including temporary credentials acceptable). Proven experience with complex spine and neurosurgical procedures. Ability to manage flexible scheduling and adapt to evolving clinical demands. Nice to Have Skills: Experience with high-volume surgical cases in fast-paced environments. Prior outpatient and inpatient neurosurgery experience. Familiarity with hospital privileging processes and documentation requirements. Excellent communication and teamwork capabilities. Preferred Education and Experience: Medical degree from an accredited institution. Completion of a neurosurgery residency program. Minimum of two years recent hospital clinical activity in neurosurgery. Demonstrated case log volume with 100 pertinent cases within the past 24 months. Other Requirements: Active CA license and CA DEA. Fluoroscopy certification (temporary accepted). Willingness to submit detailed case logs and participate in privileging procedures. Ability to start on scheduled dates with flexibility for additional assignments.
