Cook Position at Waldorf Astoria Waldorf Astoria is looking for a Cook to join the team at this gorgeous Atlanta property. Located in one of Atlanta's most prestigious neighborhoods, this Forbes 4-Star and AAA 4-Diamond hotel is a 42-story tower with over 200 rooms (127 guest rooms plus residences), over 10,000 square feet of meeting space, and 3 food and beverage outlets. This includes the 3-meal restaurant, bar, and in-room dining. As a Cook, you would be responsible for preparing food items in accordance with recipes and established standards in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding service and financial profitability. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards: Prepare food items according to designated recipes and quality standards Maintain cleanliness and comply with food sanitation standards at all times Manage guest orders in a friendly, timely and efficient manner Ensure knowledge of menu and all food products Stock and maintain designated food station(s) Visually inspect all food sent from the kitchen Practice correct food handling and food storage procedures according to federal, state, local and company regulations Prepare requisitions for supplies and food items, as needed What are we looking for? Mandatory: Able to handle service and stay organized in a busy restaurant Able to work a busy station Great love of cooking Able to follow recipes Quick learner who wants to experience all the stations and cuisines. Minimum of 2 - 3 years in the culinary department of a luxury hotel or restaurant Able to work within the guidelines of the company's safety program Quality driven with a passion for excellence.
