Reports to: Director of Life Enrichment
Status: Full Time: 32 - 40 hours per week
Salary: Based on job-related experiences and education
Schedule: 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, e/o Tuesday from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM, e/o Saturday from 8:00 AM to Noon (on alternating weeks).

Summary/Objective

The Life Enrichment Assistant will facilitate a variety of engaging activities for residents, ensuring the continuous implementation of a program tailored to meet their individual interests and needs. This program is designed in accordance with comprehensive assessments and aims to enhance the physical, mental, spiritual, and psychosocial well-being of each resident.

Essential Functions:

  • Collaborate with the Life Enrichment Director to strategically plan, organize, and implement engaging group activities and outings for residents.
  • Conduct meaningful one-on-one visits with residents to foster personal connections and enhance their overall experience.
  • Facilitate activities and programs efficiently, ensuring they are executed in a timely manner.
  • Contribute to the development of the daily and monthly activities calendar, ensuring a diverse range of options for residents.
  • Safely transport residents to various functions using company vehicles, prioritizing their comfort and well-being.
  • Plan and coordinate festive holiday events for residents, ensuring the involvement of appropriate volunteers to enhance the experience.
  • Utilize mobile devices and software applications to document and share content from resident activities on SSC's social media platforms.
  • Support the recruitment, screening, and management of volunteers by ensuring all processes are conducted effectively and in alignment with company standards. Provide comprehensive training for volunteers and maintain accurate records as necessary.
  • Providing comprehensive support and comfort to patients nearing the end of life and their families. This care encompasses emotional, social, and spiritual needs, aiming to ensure a peaceful and dignified death.

Education and Job Experience Requirements:
  • Minimum of two years of job-related experience.
  • Certificate or associates degree in event planning, project management, senior living, or a related field required. Willing to accept an interesting combination of job-related experiences and education.
  • Minimum of two years of job-related experience.
  • Preferred experience working in a long-term healthcare setting.
Other Requirements:
  • Valid Wisconsin Driver's License.
  • Vibrant and engaging personality, exhibiting enthusiasm, creativity, and imagination.
  • Possess strong communication skills, effectively conveying intentions and directions to both residents and staff while demonstrating empathetic listening abilities.
  • Proficiency in oral and written language is commendable, allowing for clear and impactful interactions.
  • Have a solid understanding of the physical and emotional dimensions of aging, which enhances their ability to motivate and positively influence residents.
  • Can work independently with little supervision.
