Summary 

This Lead Line Cook requires previous line, fine dining, catering or hospitality experience as well as good  communication skills; must be able to perform all basic and intermediate cooking skills, ability to perform in  a fast paced, high volume environment. 

Essential Functions

  • Sets up and stocks stations with all necessary supplies, notifies Chef in advance of likely  shortages. 
  • Prepares food for service, cooks menu items in cooperation with Chef's Specifications. • Follows proper plate presentation and garnishes set up for all dishes. 
  • Cleans up stations, handles leftover food and assists in closing the kitchen. 
  • Stocks inventory appropriately. 
  • Ensures that food comes out simultaneously in high quality and in a timely fashion. 
  • Complies with sanitation regulations and safety standards, uses safe and hygienic food handling  practices and keeps the kitchen stations fresh all through the shift. 
  • Ensures all storage areas are tidy and all products are stored appropriately. 
  • Maintains a positive and professional approach with team members and customers
  •  Assists in all kitchen duties assigned by Chef as needed. 

Qualifications 
  • Proven cooking skills and experience or culinary school background required. 
  • Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures.
  • Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks and following the instructions. 
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively. 
  • Be able to reach, bend, stoop, lift and work in a standing position for long periods of time. 
  • Must be flexible with work schedules.
