We are seeking an experienced and innovative Lead Java Full Stack Developer to lead our development team in designing, developing, and maintaining cutting-edge applications. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Java backend development and modern frontend frameworks, with a proven track record of delivering enterprise-level software solutions in a cloud-native environment. Candidate will play a critical role in shaping our architecture, mentoring junior team members, and ensuring quality standards.

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Pittsburgh, PA is $120k - $130k/year & benefits (see below).

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of scalable, secure, and high-performance full-stack applications using the provided technology stack.
  • Collaborate with product owners, UI/UX designers, and other stakeholders to define project scope and technical requirements.
  • Drive the architecture, design, and best practices for microservices, leveraging Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and reactive programming paradigms.
  • Develop and optimize RESTful APIs, integrate with various data sources (SQL and NoSQL), and ensure seamless service communication using REST, gRPC, and Kafka.
  • Lead frontend development using Angular 19, RxJS, HTML5, CSS3, and TypeScript to create intuitive, responsive SPAs.
  • Ensure high quality through rigorous testing with JUnit, Mockito, Selenium, Cucumber, and related tools.
  • Oversee CI/CD pipelines employing Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and related tools to automate deployments.
  • Implement monitoring and tracing solutions (Dynatrace, Log Scale) for system health and performance.
  • Mentor team members, fostering a collaborative and Agile development environment.
  • Maintain code quality, security, and performance standards; conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to architecture guidelines.
  • Collaborate on DevOps and cloud infrastructure optimization using Red Hat OpenShift and Tetrate Service Mesh.
  • Manage project documentation and issue tracking via Jira and Confluence.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of hands-on experience in Java full-stack development.
  • Extensive experience with Java 21 and core Spring ecosystem (Spring Boot, Webflux, Security, Batch, Cloud).
  • Strong front-end skills with Angular 19, RxJS, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • Proven expertise in designing and developing RESTful services and integrating with various databases: Oracle, MongoDB, Elasticsearch.
  • Experience working with messaging platforms like Apache Kafka and service communication protocols such as REST and gRPC.
  • Solid understanding of DevOps tools: Git, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud and infrastructure platforms, particularly Red Hat OpenShift.
  • Strong knowledge of automated testing frameworks and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as Dynatrace and Log Scale.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
