Reporting directly to the Fleet Maintenance Manager, the selected candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Ready-Mix trucks through routine maintenance and repair while maintaining a safe and clean workshop environment. Rate or Range: $31 and up for experienced mechanics Key Responsibilities: Perform installation, maintenance, and repairs on machinery, equipment, physical structures, plumbing, and electrical systems by adhering to specific manuals and specifications. Visually inspect and listen to machines and equipment to effectively diagnose issues. Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems. Communicate effectively and promptly with shop leadership about major issues. Operate mobile equipment, including service trucks, to recover downed vehicles as necessary. Conduct daily preventative maintenance and inspections on service vehicles, including fueling, cleaning, and checking fluids. Service pumps and motors as needed. Perform welding, repairs, and fabrication tasks. Purchase necessary parts for repairs. Make service calls to other BURNCO plants or job sites as needed. Assist in training co-workers. Maintain a clean work area. Follow all BURNCO policies and procedures. Undertake additional duties as required. Key Accountabilities: Ensure proper preventative maintenance practices are followed. Respond in a timely manner to maintenance service requests. Required Qualifications: Experience leading a heavy-duty truck maintenance facility. Strong knowledge of mechanics related to truck and general maintenance. Proficiency in using power tools, welders, cutting torches, and safety devices. Understanding of proper maintenance procedures including lockout/tagout protocols. Computer proficiency including knowledge of Allison transmissions, Davie 4, and ESA software is a plus. Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English. Ability to pass MVR with a clean driving record; Commercial Driver's License is a plus. Provide personal tools up to ¾ inches. Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment. Education and Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. 2-5 years of experience as a Heavy-Truck Mechanic is required. Experience with concrete mixers and aggregate haul trucks is preferred. Travel Requirements: May need to travel to various company facilities for maintenance activities. Physical Demands: The physical demands of the role include: Regular exposure to various weather conditions, including both hot and cold temperatures, and rain/snow. Constant use of eye/hand coordination, near vision, and hearing. Frequent activities include standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, bending, reaching, lifting and moving objects up to 50 lbs, and working with manual and motor skills. Exposure to loud noises, heavy machinery, moving equipment, and various materials. Required PPE includes safety shoes, vests, glasses, ear plugs, and hard hats, with additional PPE for specific tasks like welding.
