Overview
We're seeking a driven Insurance Defense Associate with 3+ years of litigation experience (admissions in NY) to join our growing Insurance Defense group. You’ll focus on NY Labor Law construction-site accident cases—drafting pleadings, deposing witnesses, navigating discovery, motion practice, and trial prep. You’ll also support insurers with panel counsel issues, early resolution strategy, and at times monitoring or coordinating high-stakes disputes.
Key Responsibilities
* Handle All Stages of Litigation – From case intake through trial, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, motion practice, and trial preparation. * Specialize in NY Labor Law Defense – Defend construction site accident claims under Labor Law §§ 200, 240, and 241, including scaffold and ladder cases, premises liability, and workplace safety disputes. * Develop case strategies in partnership with claims professionals and corporate counsel, with a focus on efficient resolution and risk mitigation. * Conduct Thorough Fact & Expert Discovery – Take and defend depositions, prepare witnesses, and analyze technical and medical evidence. * Draft and argue dispositive and procedural motions to position cases for favorable outcomes. * Assist or lead at trial in significant personal injury and construction litigation matters. * Offer guidance to clients on minimizing future litigation risk through compliance and safety measures.
What You’ll Bring
* JD and admission to the NY Bar * At least 3 years of experience in civil litigation—especially insurance defense and Labor Law defense
