Scroll down for a complete overview of what this job will require Are you the right candidate for this opportunity Position Overview Ohio's Hospice LifeCare in Wooster is seeking a Team Physician to join our mission. The physician will work under the Medical Director, primarily in an inpatient setting at the Stanley and Flo Gault Inpatient Pavilion, as well as covering homecare teams. The role involves providing expertise in caring for patients with life-limiting, serious illnesses, supporting hospice and palliative care teams through consultation, patient care review, staff education, and medical community liaison activities. The aim is to improve quality of life for patients and families. Qualifications Active, unrestricted Ohio medical license (Osteopathic or Allopathic). Board certified or eligible in Hospice and Palliative Medicine preferred. Unrestricted DEA license. COVID-19 vaccination completed or approved exemption. Key Responsibilities Provide medical direction and support to hospice staff to ensure quality and compliance. Develop individual care plans. Conduct face-to-face assessments to estimate prognosis and determine hospice eligibility. Participate in admissions, discharges, and care level decisions to ensure seamless and high-quality care. Perform assessments and prescribe medications in accordance with laws and collaborative practice agreements. Offer emotional support to patients and families, utilizing interdisciplinary team resources. Ensure appropriate level of care—home, respite, continuous, or inpatient—for symptom palliation and optimal team utilization. Benefits Annual stipend for conferences and CME activities.
