A respected community bank in west-central Illinois is seeking an experienced Head of Retail Banking to lead its retail branch network. Key Responsibilities

Provide strategic leadership and oversight for all retail banking functions across branches.

Lead, mentor, and develop branch managers, bankers, and frontline staff.

Drive growth in deposits, core accounts, and fee income through community-focused initiatives.

Oversee branch operations, customer experience, staffing, and risk management.

Partner with executive leadership on strategic planning, product development, and cross-sell initiatives.

Maintain regulatory compliance across retail banking functions.

Actively engage in branch visits, customer relationships, and community involvement.

Identify opportunities for process improvements to strengthen efficiency and service.

Qualifications

10+ years in retail banking leadership with experience in community banks or credit unions.

Proven success leading teams, managing branches, and growing deposits.

Hands-on leadership style with the ability to stay visible and engaged.

Strong knowledge of retail banking products, branch operations, compliance, and customer experience.

Experience in staff development and succession planning.

Adaptability to a lean, relationship-driven environment.

Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience in banking leadership.
